Bill Matthews of Invint has recently described how his company has worked on medical devices that raise body temperature, conductive packaging, smaller mobile phone antennas, smart clothing, Kwikboard™ deposited printed circuit boards, "high volume consumer products" and many other applications. Very small line widths are achieved with laser ablation. He quoted a recent figure for the polymer ink market as $5 billion globally. He sees interconnect converging with graphics and industrial printing and curing being a lively area of development. He thinks that there is now a wide enough choice of inks and polymers to solve most problems.
