National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in the UK has launched an online survey, asking for workers in the organic and plastic electronics area for their input. Part of the role of NPL as the National Measurement Institute of the UK is to support the development of standards for measurement methods and an important route for undertaking this type of activity is via the VAMAS (Versailles Project for Advanced Materials and Standards) framework.National Physical Laboratory

NIST (Dean DeLongchamp), is seeking the input of workers in the Organic and Plastic Electronics area, to determine the requirements for pre-standards activities in our scientific field, with a view to creation of a new Technical Working Area within VAMAS.NIST

Dr. Craig E. Murphy, Principal Research Scientist - Organic Electronics, at NPL, offers Printed Electronics World readers to participate in a short on-line survey, where you will be able to give your opinions on the priority areas for work. In order to collate responses in time for the next VAMAS meeting (13-15 May), replies ideally need to be received by Friday 8th May.
Dr Murphy says, "As plastic electronic products move towards commercialisation it becomes increasingly important to develop and implement reliable and common measurement and test methods and successful completion of this survey, along with any resultant VAMAS activity, would contribute significantly to that goal. Once again, I would be grateful for your time in answering the survey questions."
