Novaled AG , leader in power efficient and long living Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs) for the new generation of lighting and display products, has received the EFQM award 'Committed to Excellence' for it's global quality achievements.

Novaled joined the EFQM organization in 2006 in its permanent approach
towards business excellence. The whole company has been mobilized during 2008 to improve further the quality of its organization for a better service towards its customers. The quality achievements have been recognized and awarded by the European Foundation.

"Novaled is committed to a global quality approach for the satisfaction of our stakeholders. The EFQM Excellence Model is the appropriate vehicle to sustain our business excellence road map,", says Gildas Sorin, CEO of Novaled. "The Novaled team is quite proud of this peer recognition. Novaled is fully dedicated to developing further its Business Excellence."

The EFQM Excellence Model was introduced at the beginning of 1992 as the framework for assessing European companies and organisations for their global quality policy. It is now the most widely used organisational framework in Europe and it has become the basis for the majority of national and regional Quality Awards.

About OLEDs

OLEDs (organic light-emitting diode) are semiconductors made of thin organic material layers of only a few nanometers thickness. They emit light in a diffuse way to form an area light source. In a fast growing display market OLEDs are key part of a revolution: the dream of paper-thin, highly efficient displays with brilliant colours and great flexibility in design is becoming reality. OLEDs represent the future of a vast array of completely new lighting applications. By combining colour with shape, organic LEDs will create a new way of decorating and personalizing people's surroundings with light. At the same time OLEDs offer the potential to become even more efficient than energy-saving bulbs.
