Thin Film Electronics ASA ("Thinfilm") announced that it shipped more than 5 million EAS (electronic article surveillance) anti-theft tags to its go-to-market partner during Q2. The Q2 shipments included the first volume orders earmarked for use in the denims category. Thinfilm expects a significant increase in demand for EAS tags during H2 2018.
Thinfilm also continues to make progress in the buildout of its roll-based line for the production of NFC tags. The first NFC-specific equipment is now onsite in San Jose and installation is underway. There are no material delays, and the Company expects initial roll-to-roll production of NFC to begin by the end of Q3 as previously communicated.
