The German Sustainability Award is the largest European award for excellence in sustainability in business, municipalities and research. It is presented by the German Sustainability Award Foundation in cooperation with the German federal government, municipal umbrella organizations, business associations, civil society organizations and research institutions. The framework for the award is the German Sustainability Day, the most popular annual communication platform for the Sustainable development issues, which took place December 3rd and 4th 2020 in Düsseldorf. The German Sustainability Award is also now closely related to the sustainability goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. The finalists and winners were determined in a multi-stage process for which in this year the international management consultancy EY-Parthenon and the Center for Sustainability Management at Leuphana University Lüneburg are responsible.
