Heraeus introduces new Clevios™ HIL-E formulations for OLED

Heraeus Conductive Polymers Division is pleased to announce the introduction of new Clevios™ HIL-E grades - a combination of Hole Injection Layer and a high conductive Electrode. Clevios™ HIL-E types are PEDOT formulations specifically designed for the OLED lighting industry.
Clevios™ HIL-E offers a unique "one-stop" solution by providing both hole injection and electrode properties in one layer, so providing an economic ITO alternative to device manufacturers.
Along with the production advantages of Clevios™ HIL-E, technical benefits include excellent planarization properties and a refractive index that matches glass and plastic substrates. The formulations are also pH neutral. Regular and high work function grades are available.
Clevios™ HIL-E products can be formulated for slot-die coating, ink-jet printing and other deposition methods.
All HIL-E materials show excellent transmission and low resistances (SR). In combination with metallic bus bar grids, even single digit SRs can be achieved.
Heraeus supplies a range of Clevios™ conductive polymer materials and formulations along with silver pastes for OLEDs. A combination of these technologies will be a key to the advancement of OLED devices.
Dr. Armin Sautter, Manager of the New Technologies Business Unit stated "The introduction of the HIL-E grades are a significant milestone, reducing the manufacturing costs of OLED lamps and enabling them to successfully enter the mass lighting market."
