Webinar: Commercially Compelling Printed/Flexible Sensor Innovations

Webinar Title: Commercially Compelling Printed/Flexible Sensor Innovations
Date: Thursday 30 September 2021
Presenter: Dr Matthew Dyson, Senior Technology Analyst - IDTechEx

Space is limited - reserve your seat today!

Printed and flexible sensors constitute the largest printed electronics market outside of displays. It is an incredibly diverse field, with a wide range of technologies and applications that span from commoditized products such as glucose test strips to emerging technologies such as printed temperature sensing arrays.

While the specific market drivers clearly vary by technology, the overall picture is very promising and driven by the ever-increasing demand for continuous monitoring of healthcare parameters, environmental conditions, packages, and industrial equipment. Often referred to as the 'Internet of Things' or 'Industry 4.0', this monitoring will clearly require substantially increased volumes of low-cost sensors, with flexibility and a thin-film form factor advantageous for many applications.

In this webinar Dr Matthew Dyson, a Senior Technology Analyst at IDTechEx, will discuss a selection of the most innovative and commercially compelling printed/flexible sensor technologies that feature in the newly released IDTechEx Report "Printed and Flexible Sensors 2022-2032: Technologies, Players, Markets".

Printed/flexible sensor technologies and applications discussed in the webinar will include:
  • Emerging applications for capacitive sensors, such as leak detection.
  • Spatially resolved temperature sensors, for monitoring EV batteries and electronics, that can be combined with other functionalities.
  • Innovative current-mode readout technology, enabling large area capacitive sensors.
  • Gas sensor matrices, which operate as an 'electronic nose' to determine the composition of different gases in a mixture.

The report includes many other technologies and applications, along with technical analysis, granular 10-year market forecasts, application examples, company profiles, and an assessment of technological/commercial readiness levels.

Q&A Session

There will be a Q&A session at the end of this webinar, where Dr Dyson will answer a few questions that have been sent in.

Please send your questions to a.garrington@IDTechEx.com by Tuesday 28th September. Please note that we will not have time to answer all of the questions sent in.
