Large End User Companies Attend Printed Electronics USA 2008

In three weeks the annual IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA 2008 event opens in San Jose, CA. The technology is now reaching a tipping point - the first major new products are being launched - from flexible e-readers to fully printed RFID tags. These and other new products are being announced and demonstrated at the event.

Printed electronics has already been used for interactive printed electronic bill board posters, smart medication packages, toys and much more, but many potential users are still new to the topic and do not realise the readiness of the technology. Those that do are rapidly bringing products to market to enable brand differentiation, premium pricing, create new markets and offer new propositions to customers.

IDTechEx has seen a huge number of end user companies pre-register for the event, which include consumer packaged goods (CPG) giants such as Procter & Gamble and Kimberly-Clark and retailer Safeway. In leisure sectors Walt Disney, The Kraft Group and Hallmark are in attendance. In defence the M.O.D., Lockheed Martin and Northrup Gruman are attending.

Consumer electronics giants Apple, Nokia and Tyco are present. Creative designers and marketing companies are attending to conceive new product ideas. They include the likes of ATG Designworks, Structural Graphics, Quad/Graphics, Osmotronic and The Marketing Store. Label and packaging companies including Avery Dennison, Toppan Forms, Stora Enso, Dai Nippon Printing, Toppan Printing and the Canadian Bank Note Co. are all there. In addition, from Healthcare companies such as Abbott, Regenesis Biomedical and Roche are attending.
