The fourth annual IDTechEx Printed Electronics Asia event was held in Hong Kong in mid October. The event this year had much more of a commercialization flair - companies discussing product opportunities and technologies that can be moved to high volume production. This was the intention of organizers IDTechEx, given the location of the event in the World's largest manufacturing country. Tours were held to local organizations including ASTRI, the quasi government/industry research group, who co-organized the event, along with the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) association.
There is huge investment in printed electronics in Asia, which rivals that invested by Europe and North America. Indeed, many material suppliers and equipment providers in printed electronics that IDTechEx interview report that a significant number of their customers are based in Asia. This event brought those companies together, with visiting delegations from Taiwan, Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Europe and USA.
