FUJIFILM Dimatix, Inc. Company Profile

FUJIFILM Dimatix has developed piezo ink jet printing technology for graphics printing, food labelling and functional materials such as bio arrays and electronics. Over 200 Dimatix Materials Printer systems have been sold initially for the printed electronics industry, acting as an enabling tool for companies developing printed electronics and electricals.

Key benefits of the technology for electronics is that the printhead can be customized with software to the fluid type used, rather than having to supply custom printheads for each fluid type. Cartridge-based ink jet printheads are also available which can place just 1 picoliter of materials, enabling finer feature sizes - around 20 microns.

In 2006 the company was acquired by FUJIFILM Corporation, which gives FUJIFILM Dimatix stronger leverage when selling into East Asia.
