Chemnitz developing a new centre for Smart Systems

On 15 May 2008, a corner stone was laid in Chemnitz for one of the most important buildings within the new Smart Systems Campus, offering 2500 sqm of office space, lab and production floors for young start-ups and spin-offs from mid next year.

In the vicinity to the Technical University, next to the recently opened new building of the Institute for Physics and two Fraunhofer institutes, excellent conditions are provided, attracting not only regional companies but global players as well. With outstanding research and development in microsystem technology, smart textiles, printed electronics and other high-tech fields and a traditional close link between academia and industry, Chemnitz is one of the important European centres and will grow even further with this initiative.

IDTechEx, having an office in Chemnitz already, will offer special consultancy and market research for companies settling here.
